Stamp of endorsement
Open Africa only endorses private game reserves and safari lodges that offer authentic African safaris. This means that each safari includes a minimum of two game drives per day in open safari vehicles with experienced guides and rangers. All safaris offer guests exciting close-up big 5 game and other African wildlife viewing, all in their natural habitat.
Visitors must be able to experience the brooding African bush, a life enriching journey, where they are never quite sure which turn or twist in the track will lead to the thrill of a close-up encounter with wild African animals in their natural environment. They must also be treated to excellent service, experienced and knowledgable rangers, delicious cuisine and luxurious accommodation.
Open Africa and our partner game reserves and safari lodges are committed to the conservation of all African wildlife and their natural habitats, particularly endangered species. Our stamp of endorsement is only given to lodges that are committed to conservation and actively involved in wildlife preservation and protection projects. You can see many of these projects featured on the lodge conservation pages.
Open Africa and our endorsed partners are also committed to sustainable community upliftment. The numerous community projects, including employment, health, education, training and enterprise programmes, can also be viewed on the lodge conservation pages.
Endorsed lodges must also adhere to sustainable development principles. Lodges must show that they are working to minimize the ecological footprint and environmental impact of their operations.
In this way, we can ensure that all of our customers are provided with a way to travel responsibly in Africa while having a five star experience and contributing to conservation, community uplifment, job creation and sustainable development.
