Augrabies Falls Backpackers

This is probably the most remote Hostel in South Africa and a veritable oasis in the outback desert of the Northern Cape. One night is never enough.

Home to a bunch of river and desert guides who run river rafting and wilderness canoe trails on the Garieb (Orange) and safari Tours into the Southern Kalahari.

Accommodation is in the original old erfhuisie, some outside room and with plenty of shady spots to camp. Self catering and braai (barbeque) facilities in the boma add to the rustic charm of the place.

They offer meals, information on the area and excellent company. The beer is always cold and awaiting your arrival.

Situated 10km from the Augrabies Falls National Park it makes an excellent base for exploring the area. There are various day hikes and walks as well as a portion directly alongside the middle gorge.
