Club Nicungo is a traditional dancing group. The male and female dancers perform dance-shows wearing traditional Macua and special Ilha clothing. The dancers are professional in the sense that they perform at all important events of Ilha, but they are amateurs in that this is not their main livelihood.
The group welcomes guests to their rehearsals every afternoon in their clubhouse. While there is no direct fee for attendance, good manners dictate that visitors drop something in the club’s cash-box, if they have enjoyed their visit.
