Die Pienk Padstal

It is pink, it is prominent, it is the place for postcard pictures. It is Die Pienk Padstal, and it never fails in putting a smile on faces of visitors. The aim is selling original products from the region, and in the presentation of it, the unique humour and warm friendliness of its people become obvious.

At the parking area, visitors will be greeted by the pink donkey family. When entering the pink shade net area, the eye is overwhelmed by the pink rose quartz covering the ground, a lovely water feature and all sorts of funny phrases written on very strange items. Whether the visitor chooses to investigate the rest of the exterior, (including the unique toilettes,) or the interior, the feel-good atmosphere will prevail.

Grab a take-away coffee from the vending machine and sit down under the shade-net to enjoy a freshly homemade pie or cup cake. Or start browsing between the shelves filled with an unreal amount and variety of dried fruit, ranging from the very popular dates and raisins, to the more uncommon dried strawberries and kiwi fruit. In season, grapes, watermelons and sweet melons are irresistible. The locally made ginger beer is kept icy cold and is one of the best sellers. A variety of home-made preserves are always available, as well as rusks and other baked products.

Die Pienk Padstal is proudly displaying original art works from local artists, and the gemstone jewellery is worth considering. On the enjoyable journey through the road stall, the visitor will come across ragdolls, also locally hand-made with pride. Other products for sale include hand-bags, hats, fridge magnets and much more.
