Doreen and Sarah offer traditional food and picnics. Their specialities include ginger beer, roosterbrood, cakes, moerkoffie, samp, Karoo lamb potjiekos, domalong (a secret!), fig jam, magou and afval (tripe).
Visitors can watch the ladies preparing the potjiekos outside under the stars (which sparkle more brightly here than just about anywhere) – watch how food is prepared and how afval is cleaned (probably not for the vegetarians!).
They will teach you how to make roosterbrood and you can eat what you’ve made, including ginger beer – which you can buy and take the recipe with you to enjoy at home.
