The Johan Smith Art Gallery opened its doors in November 1999 and houses a fine selection of paintings, ceramics, glass, bronze and other works of art.
Works on display are by famous South African artists such as Adriaan Boshoff, Alexander Rose Innes, Barry Dibb, Chriss Tugwell, Conrad Theys, David Reade, Errol Boyley, Este Mostert, Frand Claerhour, Gregoire Boonzaier, Hannetjie de Clerq, Hennie Niemann sr., Hennie Niemann jr., Jan Vermeieren, Johan Smith, Mari Vermuelen-Breedt, Michael Heyns and Otto Klar.
Situated on the Clarens Square, the gallery is an integral part of a visit to the picturesque Eastern Free State.
