Monument Farm is a working essential oils farm situated on the R103 at Tweedie, opposite the Mandela Monument which marks the place where Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962, and the start of ‘the Long Walk to Freedom’.
The original stables have been converted into comfortable well equipped self-catering cottages. There is also a larger well appointed unit which can accommodate families or groups of friends.
The gardens are a riot of colour and shaded by large trees. There is an inviting swimming pool, spectacular views towards the mountain and gentle walks around the farm property. In season the farm’s hosts can show you how the essential oils are extracted from our herbs.
“Visit nearby Midmar Dam, the spectacular Howick Falls and the shops and restaurants in Howick, amble along the Meander or do something sporty, the choice is yours. When the day is over enjoy a tranquil evening back at Monument Farm. “
