Location:
Sefapane Lodges & Safaris is situated next to the Kruger park by a town called Phalaborwa, in the Limpopo province. Sefapane is situated only 1 km from the Phalaborwa Gate, the central gate to the Kruger National Park.
Main Lodge:
The main lodge is on a beautiful parcel of unspoiled bushveld and has an ‘African style’ combined with luxury, which gives you a home away from home feeling as well as a great ‘bush’ experience.
Rooms at the Main Lodge:
The 4-star luxury lodge consists of 30 fully serviced, traditional ‘African style’ thatched rondavels (Standard 36m², Deluxe 40m² and family rondavels). The rondavels, situated under shady trees, are fitted with air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, alarm clock, hairdryer, air-conditioning, private veranda and private parking. We also have 20 excellent self-catering safari houses which have a spacious lounge with satellite TV, fully equipped open plan kitchen, two bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, guest bathroom, a loft with a third bedroom and a private wooden deck and is 160m². The houses are situated around the dam, where there is brilliant birdlife. The safari houses are suitable for 4 to 10 persons, self-catering, but also able to use all the lodge facilities.

Facilities at the Main Lodge:
Next to one of our two splendid swimming pools is a sunken bar. The restaurant, with open kitchen, serves filling buffet breakfasts, lunches and divine à-la-carte dinners. Our Spa will also give you an excellent relaxing experience. Besides that there is free Wi-Fi available, laundry facilities, safe parking, bar fridges, 24/7 reception and security.
Activities at the Main Lodge:
Sefapane Lodges & Safaris organizes safaris within the Kruger National Park guided by experienced FGASA qualified guides and in special designed game-viewing safari vehicles. The morning, day and evening safaris, as well as the evening bush braais in the Greater Kruger National Park, river safaris, bush walks and mountain-bike tours are all conducted under the guidance of experienced rangers. There are fishing options in our dam and bird watching options on the property. The well-known 18-holes Hans Merensky Golf Course plus the centre of Phalaborwa is only a few minutes’ drive away from Sefapane Lodge.
River Lodge:
At Sefapane River Lodge we invite you to disconnect from your daily stressful environment. Check-in your technology and detox from the worries of life. From the moment you arrive you are able to see, feel, hear and smell the tangible raw beauty of the Greater Kruger National Park.
The lodge is accessed via a private transfer departing from Sefapane Main Lodge in Phalaborwa. The lodge is very exclusive and can only accommodate 10 people at the same time. River Lodge is situated in the Greater Kruger National Park, our private game reserve, on the banks of the Olifants River. Enjoy a few days away with meals and a selection of drinks all-inclusive as well as two safaris per day. These safaris can either be game drives or bush walks in the Greater Kruger National Park.
Rooms at the River Lodge:
Sefapane River Lodge offers accommodation in five beautifully appointed, spacious Rondavels, each accommodating a maximum of two guests. All rondavels have riverfront or bushveld views and are nestled under the indigenous trees on a rocky outcrop overlooking the mighty Olifants River.
A Sefapane River Lodge Rondavel comprises:
- A small porch overlooking the river;
- Air-conditioning;
- En-suite bathroom; and
- Luxurious bed with mosquito net.
Adventure Camp:
To celebrate our 25 year anniversary of unforgettable African experiences we opened an adventure camp for families and groups of friends to make your stay even more memorable. Enjoy a day at Tented Camp located next to the Olifants River where you can do the following activities: Zipline, archery and tower climbing while overlooking the beautiful views of the Olifants River and its game. Opportunities to bring your own braai meat and use the facilities at the camp.
Weddings:
Getting married is a very special moment in one’s life! Sefapane takes all the worries of organizing the wedding out of your hands and will make sure you have a day that is planned according to your wishes!
Conferences and events:
Sefapane Lodge offers two multi-purpose rooms that can accommodate conferences, events and private dinners. Besides that there is outdoor space for small and large events such as private dinners and weddings. Please let us know what you need and we will tailor-make a quote suited to your needs and wishes. Also team building activities at Tented Camp can be tailor made for you.
Children policy at the Main Lodge:
A welcome feature at Sefapane Main Lodge is that our property is free of dangerous game and the gardens and playground open to young visitors to enjoy at their leisure (always of course under the watchful eyes of Mom & Dad).
During school holidays, a Sefapane Kids activity calendar is run by our capable staff, which incorporates a variety of exciting activities. Please enquire upon making your reservations.
The following facilities are available for the kids:
- A second pool geared for kids;
- Catch-and-release fishing in the dams;
- Birding activities in the gardens;
- Enjoy our sprawling lawn for outdoor games; and
- Babysitting service on request.
Please note: There are some age restrictions for children on safari. Contact us and we will provide you with all the possibilities and make sure everyone can enjoy their holiday.
