Situated in the Central Drakensberg World Heritage Site, Shiriba Farm is a 40ha (100 acre) property nestled in the heart of the Champagne Valley.
Shiriba is an oasis of serenity with plenty to do in the surrounding areas. The self-catering cottage (Honeystone Cottage) has its own splash pool and you can enjoy walks, canoeing, bird-watching or fishing for trout or bass on the large dam. Alternatively you may wish to explore the arts and crafts centres or one of the many activities available in the neighbourhood.
Honeystone Cottage:
Built using materials collected from the farm and area, Honeystone Cottage is the only one of its kind at Shiriba.
It is private and secluded and offers views of the Berg as well as a dam with spectacular birdlife.
Upstairs, the spacious bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed and lovely views of the mountain, hillsides and dam. Downstairs, this self-catering unit has a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with a stove and a fridge/freezer. The kitchen opens to the lounge and dining area, where there is a cosy fireplace for winter nights.
A well-appointed modern bathroom has both bath and shower. From ground level double doors open out to the braai (barbeque) and splash pool and a deck invites you for sundowners, while the evening dam life puts on the entertainment.
A range of incidentals are also included – ice in the freezer, water, hairdryer, umbrella, torch, a safe and wood. The cottage is serviced daily.
