Bingelela Guesthouse & Restaurant is situated on a farm between the towns of Bergville and Harrismith on the R74 road, 3km from Bergville.
Always keen to innovate, the hosts at Bingelela have managed to create a stylish yet cosy venue in their old farmhouse.
Surrounded by huge trees with a view of the mountains, Joss and Paula will treat you to their typical homely hospitality. Joss still actively farms and will gladly share his experience with you.
Accommodation:
In 2001, ten chalets were added to the property, providing accommodation for up to 35 people. Each unique chalet/rondavel has en-suite facilities and is free-standing between tall blue gum trees and wild asparagus undergrowth.
The chalets are equipped with a cosy fireplace and lounge for romantic winter nights. Coffee/tea facilities, bedside lamps, a small veranda and thatched roofs ensure a tranquil atmosphere. Up to four people can sleep in a chalet.
Bingelela Restaurant:
Bingelela’s restaurant opened its doors on September 27, 1999 as a small 12-seater à-la-carte restaurant, which has since expanded into a 68-seater restaurant inside, as well as an outside boma that accommodates 36-60 people.
Both dining areas overlook the garden and swimming pool. There is a choice of smoking and non-smoking areas. The à-la-carte menu offers a selection of meticulously prepared dishes, as well as tempting light lunchtime options.

- Monday – Saturday 07:00 – 21:30;
- Sundays 07:00 – 15:00.
Bingelela Pub:
The dining room and adjacent bar (with its original theme and vibrant atmosphere) spill out onto a pool and lapa area.
Bingelela has become popular for its October Beer Fest, which is held on the last Saturday of the October holidays. This fest draws crowds of over 350 people. Bingelela offers special rates on accommodation during this period.
