Avalone Guesthouse is set in the picturesque town of St Lucia, which is in the heart of the famous Greater St Lucia Wetland Park – South Africa’s first of what have become several World Heritage Sites. The guesthouse offers five double en-suite air-conditioned rooms with extra-length twin beds, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryers and refrigerators.
Guests can enjoy a full English breakfast served on the patio area overlooking the sparkling pool and lush tropical garden bordering on the nature reserve. By prior arrangement and as an optional extra, Avalone staff can provide their guests with dinners, snack lunches and beach picnic baskets. Boat cruises, whale-watching, birding, hiking, kayaking, horse riding, fishing, snorkelling and golf are some of the many options. The Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Park is only an hour drive from Avalone – making the guesthouse the ideal base from which to see the largest land mammal (elephant) and the largest sea mammal (whale) all in one day.
