This charming, upmarket, country-style, thatched lodge is situated in the leafy suburbs of Ladysmith, in the heart of the Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer War Battlefields.
We offer spacious, comfortable accommodation, as well as delicious home-cooked meals in a family atmosphere. Relax with a drink in our famous ‘Boer War‘ Pub or on our magnificent sun deck overlooking Ladysmith and watch the sun set over the majestic Drakensberg mountains.
Accommodation:
We have 12 comfortable, single and double en-suite rooms, which include two family rooms that sleep two adults and two children. All of the rooms are equipped with the following:
- Television;
- DSTV;
- Heaters;
- Fan; and
- Tea/coffee facilities.
We also have a secure parking facility, as well as a safe to store any valuable items.
Meals:
Our rates include a delicious breakfast served from 06:15am, Monday to Friday, and from 07:30am on weekends.
A scrumptious, home-cooked 2-course meal with a glass of wine is offered for dinner on request Monday to Thursday. Guests are encouraged to sit together for dinner, creating a warm, friendly, family atmosphere and leading to some very interesting and entertaining conversations between guests from all walks of life! We also offer packed lunches on request.
Entertainment:
Enjoy a drink in our famous ‘Boer War‘ Pub and lose yourself amongst the many original battlefield artifacts that surround you. The pub has a delightful, quaint wine cellar below it, as well as a small but interesting museum adjacent to it.
