Chongoene Lodge

Owner and manager Pieter George explains that Chongoene means ‘the origins of the waters’. Chongoene Lodge offers accommodation in the form of eight chalets (two, six, eight and ten sleepers), that are fully equipped for self-catering. The campsite has enough space for up to sixty people with fifteen individual sites.

The restaurant has an a-la carte menu and serves well-presented food. The resort also offers a boat for whale watching and water sports activities. Quads and charter boats are available at the neighbouring Xai-Xai Beach Resort. Other activities include angling, deep-sea fishing, diving, 4×4 trails, a coral reef and a national game park close by.

This lodge is tucked away in the bushes behind the beach and is thus isolated from the busy beachfront. The chalets are stylefully built, blending in with the surrounding environment. The resort has no permanent electricity, but generators provide electricity at night time.
