Die Kraaltjie consists of loose standing houses that are fully furnished and include cooking and braai (barbeque) facilities, television, bedding, towels, coffee, tea, milk and sugar. The houses are serviced daily.
Die Kraaltjie can accommodate up to 56 people. It also has restaurant facilities and a road stall that is open to the public too. There are also conference facilities and a venue for functions and weddings. Die Kraaltjie also does catering for groups – and everything that is required for a function (flowers, decorated/laid out tables, catering).
The activities around Die Kraaltjie include swimming at the swimming holes in a river, as well as fishing at the river and in farm dams, hiking trails, whilst game camps are also within range.
Die Kraaltjie started 13 years ago. All the old labourer cottages were restored, as well as the old farmstead, which was empty for twenty years. It was developed privately and progressed as money became available. The function venue was an old apple storage room where a kitchen was recently built as an extension. The fully licensed restaurant has been in use for about three years. There is also a new development and extension, namely Kraaltjie Number Two, with three old restored farm houses.
