Drifter’s Zululand Inn

Drifter’s Zululand Inn is a rustic inn located on a small private property in a sand forest overlooking False Bay. It is ideally positioned for access to the coast and Lake St Lucia as well as to the northern KwaZulu-Natal game reserves. The property offers a self-guided nature trail with excellent chances of sighting indigenous wildlife, and a swimming pool for relaxing and cooling off. Self-drive clients stay in luxury en-suite rooms while Drifter’s Tour Groups use the camp in an acacia forest away from the lodge. Drifters Inn operates as a bed and breakfast with self-catering facilities, but provides dinners on request.

Established in 1983, Drifter’s has a philosophy of sustainability – the long-term assurance that whatever activity conducted in a natural area must contribute to the conservation and wellbeing of the inhabitants of the area. On acquiring the property in Zululand – which was an old pineapple farm – the challenge was to restore the land to its natural state. A decade later the owners are proud to say that there are no alien plants and indigenous wildlife and amazing birdlife occupy this little paradise.

“If you really wish to spend your time on an African safari and you relish the thought of nature and beauty combined with luxury and comfort, Drifter’s Zululand Inn will provide that for you.”
