Gorge View is a complex offering a garden restaurant, Bush Golf (putt-putt), a Gorge Walk (to the pool at the bottom of Howick Falls), and spectacular views of the uMngeni Valley and Forgotten Falls. The complex also houses the African Dream Curio Shop, a one-stop shop for arts, crafts, gifts and curios.
The craft business has developed rapidly since its establishment in 1995, and is now a premier centre – ensuring that arts and crafts of excellent quality are available to tourists at reasonable prices. Antiques, carvings, beadwork, woven products, paintings and metal crafts are among the many items available in the shop. The emphasis is on handcrafted goods. Where possible, the business also supports talented local crafters who were previously unemployed. African Dream endeavours to provided training and advice to these local crafters – with the result that new and unique crafts are continuously being produced. The atmosphere in the shop is enhanced by African drum music and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
