iGwalagwala Guesthouse nestles in the unique little village of St Lucia, which is situated in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park at the mouth of the St Lucia Estuary. The iSimangaliso Wetland Park was declared South Africa’s first World Heritage Site in 1999. It includes over a hundred kilometers of pristine coastline, stretching from St Lucia to the Mozambique border. It includes 38 000 hectares of lake, numerous islands and an estuary supporting a variety of habitats including the Lebombo mountains, grasslands, forests, wetlands, mangroves and vegetated dunes, with magnificent beaches and coral reefs. This natural diversity creates an environment which is a birder’s dream, with more than 500 species to be found in the area.

Our double rooms are all en-suite and equipped with fans or air-conditioning, hair dryers and tea/coffee making facilities. We offer the option of a light breakfast buffet, a full English breakfast or self catering facilities. We have a comfortable lounge/TV room and relaxing lawn area next to a sparkling pool with a gazebo and barbeque facilities. The Guesthouse has secure, access-controlled, on-site parking and the beaches, shops and numerous restaurants are within walking distance.
