Marco was born in the area and is presently doing a conservation course through Sanparks. He knows the bush well, including the medicinal purposes of the local plants. Marco can take guests on a number of different walks – to the outlook point with the beautiful views over Plettenberg Bay and Robberg, down into Nature’s Valley and into the forests. There are a variety of species of birds in the area; if you’re very lucky you may spot the spectacular Knysna Loerie.
In the surrounding area you may also see bushbuck, bushpigs, monkeys, baboons, snakes and butterflies. A leopard was last seen in December 2003; leopard spoor are seen in the forest at times.
