Matoppo aan de Wagenweg is a beautifully restored building dating back to the 17th century. It is situated within a sprawling, lush garden estate in the heart of the Karoo. This guesthouse is an urban sanctuary with a romantic heritage, a unique sense of style and a commitment to service excellence.
Whether travelling through the Karoo for business or leisure, Matoppo Inn is an elegant oasis which offers luxurious accommodation in the peace and serenity of a spacious Karoo environment.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in a dining room which dates back to the 1830’s. High wooden ceilings create an ambience of yesteryear and large sash windows allow crisp Karoo air and sunlight into a room where magnificent dinners, state functions and balls were once held on the gleaming yellow wood floors.
Dinner is served beside a cracking fire to banish the Karoo winter chill. In summer, Karoo cuisine can be enjoyed in the courtyard or in the privacy of your own air-conditioned room. Chefs prepare a 3-course meal based on a selection that you make from the menu. Breakfast, lunch and dinner must be booked in advance.
