Accommodation:
Mdumbi Backpackers offers simple and spacious accommodation set in traditional style Xhosa huts. Level, lawn camping sites with sufficient space are available near a primed ablution block. A generous, well equipped, communal kitchen will provide for self-catering needs. Hot water showers and flushing toilets are available.
Mdumbi Café:
This is Mama Nowethu’s place where she will welcome you and satisfy your hunger needs. There is a basic food menu available for breakfast, toasted sandwiches, salads, etc. Every evening Mdumbi Backpackers offers a set menu for dinner. Please book in advance.
A selection of sweets, biscuits, sodas and crisps are for sale at Mdumbi Café.
Please note: Mdumbi Backpackers does not have a liquor license, instead we promote cultural exchange, a two minute walk up the road to the local shebeen.
