Mesosaurus Fossil Site and Quivertree Dolorite Park

Fascinating site where the fossils of the early saurian Mesosaurus tenuidens, a predecessor of the dinosaurs, have been discovered and are carefully conserved. An extensive, unspoiled quivertree forest, set amidst the black dolerite hills, waits to be explored.

Actvities:

  • Owner-guided tours of the fossils and the quivertree forest;
  • Birdwatching including sociable weavers; and
  • Lunches (pre-booked).

Accommodation:

  • Four thatched rock bungalows (ten beds in total) and five campsites, all with braai (barbeque) facilities; and
  • A private bush camp for up to twenty persons.
