St Barbara Church is a Roman Catholic church that was dedicated to the patron saint of miners. Built in 1914 it is the oldest building in Tsumbe and is also an important landmark in the historical part of town. It was built by the German South-West African colonial authorities and until 1927 it was the only functioning church in the mining town.
