The Vale Karoo Farm

The Vale is a working Karoo farm and one of South Africa’s top Dorper sheep stud farms. Farming activities are diverse and include farming with a substantial number of game. Situated in the heart of the Karoo it offers many holiday and breakaway opportunities. It is situated only 32km from the Karoo National Park.


Main Guest Lodge:

The lodge, expertly renovated from an old farmhouse dating back to the 1880’s, has five exceptionally appointed en-suite rooms. Guests will be spoilt with delicious Karoo cuisine and homely service.

Stone cottages and deluxe caravan en-suite stands:

There are eight twin bedded rooms each with its own en-suite bathroom and a kitchenette. There are also four cottages with an en-suite double bedroom, single bed, twin bedded room and a kitchenette. The outdoor adventurer can park a caravan or 4×4 next to these stone cottages for a unique camping experience. A braai (barbeque) area is available. Guests can also enjoy delicious Karoo cuisine at the lodge.

Hunters Lodge:

A beautifully converted old stone farm shed with self-catering facilities. Guests can enjoy unforgettable evenings in the boma under the Karoo sky.

The Vale also offers conference facilities for groups of up to 20 delegates. It is the ideal venue for team building in a quiet and peaceful environment. A braai (barbeque) under the Karoo sky will be the perfect end to a day of brainstorming.
