This 10 500ha farm consists of flat and mountain terrain, making it the perfect location for hiking trails.
On offer are 4×4 routes, mountain bike trails, quad bike trails, camping, game-viewing, birding, hunting and nationally renowned hiking trails. Transkaroo Adventures cater for big and small groups, and their three day hiking trial is on excellent Great Karoo terrain.
The farm has a rich history, and has been in the Van der Merwe’s family from 1924. The tourism business started with a hiking trail in 1993, which since then expanded to a full scale business. Accommodation consists out of a range of old farm houses and an old shed that has been restored to serve as an overnight facility for tired hikers. On the hiking trail hikers stay in all these different overnight facilities. The hiking trails are designed in such a way that hikers can control the duration and difficulty of their hikes. Back up vehicles and baggage transport can be arranged with your hosts.
The farm has diverse flora and fauna, natural swimming places, dramatic rock formations, rock art and hospitable hosts, who will contribute to lasting memories from visiting Transkaroo Adventures.
