On Verlatenkloof Farm you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the spectacular Karoo scenery. Relax and restore your soul, rediscover nature or follow the sheep trail to the top of the mountain.
Verlatenkloof is ideal for family get-togethers, team-building groups, nature lovers, 4×4 enthusiasts and even motor cycle clubs. They offer a combination of accommodation options which include three fully equipped self-catering cottages, as well as caravan- and camping facilities.
The self-catering cottages are fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, a gas fridge and stove (there is no electricity). As far as bedding is concerned, they supply comforters, blankets and pillows. Guests must please bring their own sheets, pillowcases and towels. Alternatively linen can be supplied at an additional fee. It is also advisable to bring a lantern or torch.
The cottages:
Dassiegat:
This is a two bedroom cottage with kitchen/living area with a fireplace and bathroom with a shower. The first bedroom has a double bed and bunk beds and the second has a three quarter bed and bunk beds. Sleeps eight people.
Bojaankrans:
This is a one bedroom cottage with kitchen/living area with fireplace and bathroom with a bath. The bedroom has a double bed and a kiddies bed (pre-school) and a three-quarter bed and bunk beds in the living area. Sleeps six people.
Molsgat:
This is just a bedroom with two single beds, basin, toilet and shower. There is a gas stove, but no fridge. Sleeps two people.
Camping:
The campsite can accommodate up to 12 vehicles. There are ample trees for shade and also braai (barbeque) facilities. There is an ablution block with showers and a bath.
There is no cellphone reception on the farm, but the farmhouse has a landline if required. They also have firewood for sale.
For 4×4 enthusiasts they have a self-drive route with a difficulty degree of 3. Low range is required as some parts are quite steep. However, the views along the route are amazing. We therefore recommend that you make a day of it to allow enough time at the view points.
