Located in Serenje, Villa Mbanandi Lodge was founded in 2009 by the family of Mr. Kabanda, former Town Clerk of Kalulushi Municipal Council. The founders were inspired by the need to provide descent hospitality services to the travelling public on the Great North Road, as well as promoting local tourism. The concept of Villa Mbanandi came along with the vast travel experience of the proprietor who has travelled vastly in Africa, South America and Europe.
‘Mbanandi‘ is a Tumbuka word which means “we are many”. Many in the sense that we are not operating in isolation, we are operating in a global village and in Zambia in particular we consider tourism to be the second foreign exchange earner. As such we feel we can tap into Zambia’s hospitality industry and make a difference by creating job opportunities. The aim is to bring out contemporary hospitality ideas into Serenje for the traveller to experience the exquisite product.
Villa Mbanandi Lodge is built on a 500x500m² structure and offers accommodation in 14 en-suite bedrooms with cable television service and serviced by own water borehole in a serene environment.
The lodge’s restaurant serves a-la-carté meals with a choice of traditional cuisine, prepared by well trained professional chefs to suit the traveller’s taste. The conference facility has a capacity to host 100 people at a time. The wall faced facility provides 24-hour security, a secure car park and its proximity to the police station makes it a more secure lodge in Serenje. Other services include wireless internet access.
