Aliwal North Museum

The two museums in the town of Aliwal North are the Aliwal Museum and the Kerkplein Museum. Both are run on a voluntary basis.

The Aliwal Museum covers the history and culture of the town of Aliwal North, and includes exhibits such as a photographic history of Aliwal buildings and rivers, a soap collection, a bound collection of Aliwal newspapers since 1897 as well as an Africana collection.  The museum also has an herb garden.

The Kerkplein Museum has a street scene depicting shops, a church and the de Wet and Henning houses as they were in the past. It also has a photo exhibition of the Boer War.
