André Watson, a talented artist, started ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful from Africa’, initially in response to local demand for her vivid, original screen-printing designs. She now has a range of fourty designs that are screen printed onto fabric and ready to paint. André markets two types of kits – one containing fabric paints, design and instructions, the other simply the design and instructions.
The designs are printed on a range of products including cushions covers, pictures, tablecloths, aprons and lampshades. The kits are sold extensively through craft shops in South Africa and are also exported to Australia and Canada.
Her base and showrooms on the uMngeni Footprint Route are in Howick, as well as at the Dovehouse Organic Farm where one can see the whole production process as well as purchase the kits. André is also planning to help train the ladies of the Senzohuhle Woman’s Group in screen-printing.
