Belton – Milking Parlour Cottage and Hiking Trails

Belton Farm is situated just 20km from Kenton-On-Sea and offers self-catering accommodation in a unique three bedroom guesthouse with magnificent views of the undulating hills and Kariega River valley.

Accommodation:

The Milking Parlour is named after the cow shed which was converted into a spacious, modern, cozy and comfortable guesthouse. It consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area and kitchen. Fully equipped with linen and towels, it is suitable for self-catering, but meals can be arranged at an extra cost.

The cottage has the most wonderful views down into the valley, and if you are an early bird, what better than to watch the sunrise while having that first early morning ‘cuppa‘ on the patio.

Bird-watching is most rewarding in this part of the Eastern Cape and you might be lucky enough to spot the colourful Knysna Loerie or even the Crowned, Martial and Fish eagles which breed in the area.

Hiking trails:

Belton has two trails which take you through the East Cape bush, in and out the many kloofs and up alongside the streams, with views of the Bushmans River valley. Maps and descriptions are provided, or you can be accompanied if you prefer or you can bring your sat nav device to guide you with directions. Belton is a good base to hike the many day trails in the area, as well as all the wonderful beaches to be walked and enjoyed.

Trail 1:

Total time:  Approximately 3 hours – Distance approximately 9km.

This starts off passing the Belcrest farm house and going on to the spring. You walk up the game fence and then over the hill to the magnificent view of the Bushmans Valley. The trail winds in and out the kloofs, towards the Kariega Park Game fence where the elephants and lions have been seen.
You will come around and back to the Belton House.

Trail 2:

Trail 1 done in reverse.

At the moment we have a third trail under construction and this will wind in and out the farm land, so you will see cattle and pineapples, as well as different types of local vegetation.
