Dragon Peaks Mountain Resort

Dragon Peaks Mountain Resort is situated in the beautiful Champagne Valley, in the heart of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains in KwaZulu-Natal. Their 405ha (1 000 acre) wilderness estate borders the uKhahlamba World Heritage Site and is the perfect venue for nature lovers, bird-watchers and mountaineers alike.

Located two and a half hours from Durban and three and a half hours from Johannesburg, Dragon Peaks is ideal for family holidays, weekend getaways, weddings and conferences.

Dragon Peaks offer a variety of accommodation to suit all tastes, including self-catering thatched cottages, park homes, backpackers and an electrified caravan camping site.

Conference facilities:

The conference facilities are tailored for medium to small corporate groups. There are two dedicated conference rooms, one with a capacity for 100 delegates and the other for 25.

The rooms are equipped with an overhead projector, VCR and a large-screen television, whiteboard, flipchart, wall-to-wall carpets, padded chairs and air-conditioning. Tea and coffee breaks with snacks can be arranged. Teambuilding activities can be arranged through the reception.

Wedding Island:

Picturesque mountains frame the lake wedding venue, comfortably seating 120 guests with fine dining and impeccable service.

Accommodation:

Paddock House – Luxury nine-sleeper:

Situated inside the horse paddock with a magnificent mountain view and private bass dam. This unit has four en suite bedrooms, a lounge with a fireplace, underfloor heating, air-conditioning, kitchen and dining room.

Park House – Luxury seven-sleeper:

Park House is a private thatched cottage with three en suite bedrooms, a lounge with a fireplace, dining room, underfloor heating, air-conditioning and a kitchen.

Thatch Cottages:

The thatch cottages sleep two, six or eight and all have kitchenette/dinette, underfloor heating, air-conditioning and mountain views.

Maluti Log Cabins – Luxury four-sleepers:

Log cabins with a veranda, two bedrooms with a double bed or two single beds. They also have a kitchen/dinette/lounge, air-conditioning, and a bathroom with shower, bath and toilet.

Drakensbergs – Four- and five-sleepers:

Park homes with a veranda, two bedrooms with double bed and two singles, kitchen/dinette/lounge, air-con, heater, bathroom with bath/hand shower and toilet.

Plettenbergs – Four-sleepers:

Park homes with a veranda, two bedrooms with a double bed and two singles. Kitchen/dinette/lounge, bathroom with a shower and toilet.

Mountain Base – Group facility:

The mountain base is ideal for larger groups as it offers 22-bed cabins and three dormitories sleeping 123 people. There are 14 toilets, 14 showers, a bar, two dining rooms and an equipped kitchen.

Caravan and Camping Sites – Maximum eight people per site:

The camping area has grass, slab and shaded sites with brick braais (barbeques), television connections and electrical points. The 140 sites are served by three modern ablution blocks.
