Dysselsdorp Liquorice is the only sole producer of liquorice concentrate, produced from a local plant, the liquorice root.
Dysselsdorp’s liquorice factory, which is open to visitors, is the only one of its kind in South Africa. The liquorice plant (Glycrrhiza glabra) flourishes on the banks of the Olifants River outside Dysselsdorp.
