On the 24th of January 2005, Blessing’s Dressmaking Business started. The business is located at the Tribal Court of Mangwebuthanani. This is situated near Isandlwana Lodge where the famous Isandlwana Mountain is situated. Before students are employed by the Centre they need to do a two month training course.
The centre is divided into three main categories:
- Sales and Marketing Department;
- Productive Department (Manufacturing); and
- Academic Department (Training and development).
For sale are clothes, sleeping wear, trousers, comforters, curtains, graduation gowns, tracksuits and so on.
In Blessing’s own words: “We are on a daily basis trying to raise funds to help with the existence of this business. The uniqueness of this business is that it is the only one in this area. Our main aim is to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and unemployment”.
