Karkloof Horse Adventures is located on a farm approximately 20km out of Howick. The farm itself consists of spectacular rolling hills and some steep gorges – there are six waterfalls on the farm. Although unsuitable for agriculture, the landscape is ideal for horse trails. The farm has two game farms as neighbours and is also close to the pine plantations near Karkloof Falls.
Packages on offer include the day-long Karkloof Falls Picnic Ride, a 3hr ride onto the neighbour’s game farm to ride with zebras and other game, or a breakfast ride to the Dovehouse Organic Farm and Tea Garden (Dovehouse Farm is also a participant on this route). Katina also runs riding lessons for local children and hosts riding camps during the school holidays. Camping is also available on the farm – in Tee-pees or in the campers’ own tents. There are hiking trails throughout the farm. There are bush walk trails throughout the farm. Also visit the pony camps.
Visitors can also stay over in the farm’s self-catering cottage.
