Kulala Wilderness Camp, situated in the heart of the Namib Desert on the 21 000ha private Kulala Wilderness Reserve, lies at the foot of a mountain facing west to catch the majestic Namibian sunsets. This camp consists of nine simple yet stylish chalets (‘kulalas‘). Each room commands a panoramic view of the valley and mountains beyond. The main area is built of canvas with thatched roofing on raised platforms and offers a cosy and intimate atmosphere, complete with a bar and traditional three-course dinners.
Guests can enjoy drinks and a breathtaking view from the sparkling pool built into the elevated deck of this area. On the edge of the oldest desert in the world, wildlife here is fascinating in its adaptation to the harsh conditions. Sparse yet thrilling to see are springbok, gemsbok, ostrich, bat-eared fox and the rarely seen aardwolf.
