Livingstone Guest Farm is a unique lodge, a private and peaceful retreat in an unspoiled rural setting on the Maramba River, close to the mighty Victoria Falls. The lodge is built around a renovated farm house with a distinctive large thatched roof to make sure the five rooms stay cool even on the hottest of days. The raised swimming pool offers an alternative method of cooling off, but its 20m are also perfect for those desiring to exercise. The great views over the natural bush land are stunning from the top floor of the main building. The numerous footpaths throughout the guest farm are a great way of getting to know the African flora and fauna.
The lodge is handicap friendly because of its open structure and ground level construction with smooth and unobstructed floor surfaces.
The main lodge has a total of six rooms. Two double rooms each with double beds and three twin-rooms with two single beds in each. They are tastefully decorated with local African art and all the buildings are thatched and pleasantly cool throughout the year. They are equipped with a dressing table, fan(s), mineral or bottled water, a bedside lamp, terrace/patio (ground floor), toiletries, work or writing desk and an en-suite bathroom. All our rooms are child friendly and are on a B&B basis. Despite this, we have a full service restaurant that serves lunch and dinner upon guests’ request.
The Family House, the sixth room, has two bedrooms both with double beds and an attic with four single beds which are ideal for children. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with a gas stove and all kitchen utensils. The veranda is very spacious and looks out onto the bush. This house is also ideal for small board meetings, conferences and workshops. Amenities include tea making facilities, fan(s), fridge, mosquito nets, a bedside lamp, terrace/patio (ground floor), toiletries, wardrobe, work/writing desk and an en-suite bathroom.
On relaxation we cater for both the young and old as we have a large swimming pool and a children’s pool. We provide for international as well as regional and local guests. Day visitors from the Livingstone area are also welcome.
Activities:
The environment of the lodge is very peaceful, natural and has abundant birdlife. The farm has a network of 10km of paths that can be used for walking, jogging and cycling. Other activities offered include birding, bush walks, mountain-bike cycling trails and cultural village trips. The main attraction in this area is the Victoria Falls.
The Victoria Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya (‘the smoke that thunders’ in the language of the local Lozi tribe) is one of the seven natural wonders of the world – and not to be missed when visiting Zambia!
