Lyngenfjord Guesthouse

Lyngenfjord Guesthouse offers six rooms, all with shared DSTV and other convenient facilities. The guesthouse has a saltwater swimming pool, offers safe parking, a bar facility, a braai (barbeque)facility and guest lounges, as well as a breakfast and dining room. Other services include laundry (on request); car hire and internet access.

Rooms:

Room 1:  This room is downstairs, sea-facing with a magnificent view of the beach and the ocean. It also has a sliding door that opens on the pool terrace, an en-suite bathroom, a television, mini bar, safe, hair dryer, beach towels, coffee and tea.  There is also a choice between a king size bed or twin beds. This room is easily accessible with a wheelchair.

Room 2: Downstairs, non-sea facing without a view, en-suite with a shower (not a bath) with either a king size bed or twin beds. The room also has a television, a mini bar, hair dryer, safe, beach towels and tea/coffee facilities.

Room 3: Upstairs, sea facing with a spectacular view of the beach and ocean, a private balcony, en-suite, king size bed or twin beds. Other facilities include a television, mini bar, safe, hair dryer, beach towels and tea/coffee facilities.

Room 4: Upstairs, sea facing with a little view of the ocean. En-suite with a shower (not a bath), specify whether king size bed or twin beds. The room also includes a television, mini bar, safe, hair dryer, beach towels and tea or coffee facilities.

Room 5: Upstairs, a very spacious room, the main suite of the guesthouse. This room is sea-facing and offers a spectacular 180º view of the beach and the ocean, with a private balcony. This room is also en-suite and there is a choice between king size bed and twin beds. A television, mini bar, safe, hair dryer, beach towels, tea/coffee are also available in the room.

Room 6:  Upstairs, non-sea facing with a private balcony from which one can see the beach and the ocean. There is also a private balcony, and has an en-suite bathroom. There is a choice between a king size bed or twin beds. Facilities like a television, mini bar, safe, a hair dryer, beach towels and tea/coffee are on offer in the room.

The guesthouse is situated within walking distance from one of the top ten beaches in South Africa (as rated in Getaway Magazine). It is also close to two golf courses and all shopping amenities. The beach offers opportunities for activities such as fishing, surfing, whale and dolphin-watching, as well as hiking trails in nature reserves; also visit the Sealpoint Lighthouse, Ajubatus Marine and Wildlife Institute.

The guesthouse is owned by a couple from Middelburg (Eastern Cape) who retired as farmers and came to St Francis to open their business. The Guesthouse is named after a Norwegian Tanker shipwreck – Lyngenfjord – in the area.
