Mutinondo Wilderness Lodge & Campsite

Mutinondo Wilderness Lodge and Campsite is located 25km off the Great North Road and a few hundred metres south of the Kalonje Railway. It is situated near the Muchinga Escarpment, south east of Mpika, and within easy reach of other local tourist attractions. The forest around Mutinondo Wilderness offer outstanding birding due to its proximity to the Luangwa Valley and is home to the curiously elusive Bar-winged weaver.

The comfortable lodge has four spacious open-air chalets, en-suite facilities with hot water provided by solar and wood-burning boilers, a restaurant and bar. The shop offers hand crafted jewellery made from local stones, village crafts, local art and photographs.

The campsite has hot showers, long-drop toilets, excellent braai (barbeque) facilities, four pitches and raven-proof cupboards for storing items. Firewood is available at no extra charge. There is an open-air grass chalet and basic camping facilities. Mutinondo is an ideal spot for hiking, birding, swimming, canoeing, mushrooming, horse riding or just relaxing.
