Rouxwil Country House

A farm restaurant with dinner, bed and breakfast facilities, including organised guided farm tours, also for groups. Guests arrive as visitors and leave as friends.

Activities at Rouxwil Country House:

  • Thys personally takes you on a guided tour of farm activities. As Rouxwil is mainly a wheat and sheep farm, he is an expert on the wheat and sheep production in the Western Cape;
  • Watch plains game from the comfort of your room in the game camp right in front of the house. We have Eland, Zebras and Springbuck. You may even stroke an Eland Bull when we feed them every night;

  • Go for a sundowner cruise down the river;
  • Enjoy a unique wine experience;
  • Hiking on the farm;
  • Bird-watching with the Blue Crane in its natural habitat is an exceptional privilege that is rarely available to tourists. Rouxwil is close to the Theewaterskloof Dam and the Riviersonderend River where water birds are in abundance; and
  • A typical South African way of entertaining guests by experiencing a braai (barbeque) with your hosts, Thys and O’Nel, on the big spacious verandah.

The following are seasonal and weather permitting:

  • The harvesting and off loading of wheat at the Caledon silos (October – December);
  • Quad bike rides;
