Studio Karoo is housed in one of the first buildings established in the town of Steytlerville. The upper level of the old stables have magnificently been restored into a spacious studio with a spectacular view across the Karoo landscape.
Visitors are enchanted by magnificent sunsets and crystal clear starlit skies. This is the perfect place for artists to explore their creativity and restore their soul.
Studio Karoo welcomes artists with and level of experience – especially those with little or no art knowledge who would like to explore and develop their creativity in a relaxed, friendly and inspiring environment.
There are several packages that artists can choose from.
Some of these include:
- Art weekends from Friday to Sunday afternoon at pre-arranged dates throughout the year;
- A 3-day drawing and painting holiday during the months from April to June and from August to October each year; and
- Individual drawing and painting courses are also offered by arrangement.
All these art courses are held under the personal tutorship of Elwyn Harlech-Jones, well known architect and artists. Delicious meals and teas are part of every art occasion. Accommodation may be provided in the upmarket Steytlerville Villa Guesthouse.
