Verloren Vallei Nature Reserve was proclaimed to manage and protect the precious and sensitive ecosystem that stores and produces crystal clear water. The unique reserve covers an area of approximately 5891ha, 14km north of Dullstroom.
The biggest attractions to this nature reserve are the cranes, the flowers and sweet water:
- The cranes are world-wide symbols of longevity and they inhabit the healthiest environments;
- The numerous flower species give colour to life; and
- The water gives life to the complex ecosystem of the reserve.
