Four Rivers Rafting and Adventures offers fun and exciting adventure activities. Situated in the Central Drakensberg of KwaZulu-Natal on the R600 between Thokozisa and the Bell Park/Cayley Lodge turnoff, they are a convenient distance from all the other resorts. As the name suggests, they offer white water rafting, but also off-road quad rides, off-road bike rides, teambuilding activities, abseiling, a zipline, archery and mountain boarding.
The main rafting season is from December to April. Visitors can choose between two options:
1. Daily Rafting Trip:
This trip begins with a safety briefing. Then you will have a 30 minute lesson on water on how to control, steer and get into the boats. Once this is completed, we proceed into the main gorge where we will ride several of the Tugela rivers including grades 3, 4 and 5 rapids for approximately 3 hours. Grade 5 is considered the world’s biggest commercial rapid. There will be a braai (barbeque) and refreshments waiting at the end of the trip.
2. Multi Day Rafting Trip:
Experience the Tugela (Thukela) Gorge for exhilarating, unforgettable days. Tugela Gorge is known as one of the greatest white water sections in South Africa, with rapids from grade one to five, and the odd portage around a commercially un-runnable grade six.
