Bishop’s Cove Lodge is situated on one of the most spectacular privately-owned sites in the Tsitsikamma area. To the south lies the pristine, rugged coast with its small private beach; to the east a dramatic drop into the forested Boschkloof; to the north a small stream flows through a steep valley hidden by its forest canopy; and to the west a hill covered with fynbos protects the lodge from the occasional passing cold front. All this within a stone’s throw of the shaded verandas of the Lodge. A little further inland the scenery is tranquil and pastoral with lush pastures, dairy cows, and the Tsitsikamma Mountains.

Bishop’s Cove Lodge is a cluster of spacious architect-designed cottages and a main house – perfectly equipped for that relaxed break or energetic outdoor holiday on one of the most dramatic sites on the South African coastline.

Accommodation:

Both small and large groups of up to 13 guests can be comfortably accommodated in the spacious and well-equipped units. Although the Lodge is designed for self-catering, our friendly resident manager does offer B&B or fully-catered options provided this is arranged beforehand.

Bishop’s Cove Lodge:

The lodge offers two bedrooms, a loft and an open-plan living and dining area with a spacious modern kitchen in the main building . The livingroom opens up on three sides onto a covered veranda with each side having its own dramatic views. There are two more en-suite bedrooms in an adjacent cottage which also boast panoramic views. Sunbird Cottage – also with two en-suite bedrooms – can be used with the Lodge to accommodate larger groups.

Sunbird Cottage:

Sunbird Cottage – which can be hired separately from the Lodge – has two generous en-suite bedrooms, an open-plan living area and kitchen opening onto a large covered deck with amazing views.
