Karsten Farms (Roepersfontein)

Piet and Babsie Karsten started farming in 1968 on Kanoneiland, an island in the Orange River, west of Upington. In 1980 they bought the farm Roepersfontein.

Today Roepersfontein is the head quarters of the Karsten Group, a huge enterprise which includes fruit farms and packing facilities located in both South Africa’s Orange River and Western Cape regions, export and logistics companies, an import and distribution business in the United Kingdom, as well as production and pack house facilities in Egypt.

The Karsten Group is a people business with partnerships stretching across the fruit growing regions of South Africa and across the world.
