The Ngoma Craft Centre coincided with the establishment of the Salambala Conservancy in 1994. The construction of the craft centre was done with the help of Helena Brand who secured funding for the project. There is a long history of craftwork in the area and the centre provides the community with an outlet for their products. All the ladies that work at the centre are self-taught and two of them have received training as resource managers and financial management.
The centre has a variety of crafts on sale including weaved baskets and mats, pottery and woodcarvings.
