The Rietjieshuis Eco Lodge is a small tourism operation by a local group of women situated on the communal farm, Melkkraal, on the Bokkeveld Plateau.
The Rietjieshuis offers meals and truly authentic accommodation for guests to experience the traditional lifestyle of the small scale farmers of the South Bokkeveld. Traditional meals are prepared on the open fire and served with a warm smile.
Accommodation is provided in traditional restio cottages (rietjieshuise). Up to five guests can be accommodated.
Guided hiking trails on the farm include visiting traditional restio architecture, rock art sites and medicinal plants. A demonstration on how to harvest rooibos tea the traditional way can also be arranged.
Groups can be accommodated for day trips and large tour busses are also welcome upon request.
